Region 2 Area: The Ontario - Quebec border up to the eastern boundary of the District of Thunder Bay and the eastern borders of the counties of Grey, Dufferin, Wellington, Halton, Brampton, Sudbury and Ottawa. About Our Region: Region Two is the largest Canadian IPA region in membership, exceeding 400 members. The Region covers most of Central Ontario including the Regional Municipalities of Toronto, Peel, Durham, York and Simcoe. Other smaller police services within this area are included. In Eastern Ontario the Capital of Ottawa and vicinity is also presently covered by Region Two, and active measures are presently being taken to revive the now-dormant Region Six. The Region holds Monthly Social Dinner meetings at Kally's Restaurant, 430 Nugget Ave., Toronto, (Markham Road, first lights north of Sheppard) on the second Wednesday of each month, and the executive holds monthly meetings at various locations. The Region produces a bi-monthly newsletter, "ROUNDUP" which is distributed mostly by email to our members and to other Regions. Because Toronto International Airport is the gateway to Canada from Europe and elsewhere, we receive many visitors from overseas, as well as the United States, because of our proximity to the border. We are fortunate to have on our executive Harry SUMMERTON, the National Travel Secretary who has many years of service in that job.
