About Our Region

HISTORY:
Region 10 was formed on Sept. 27, 1975, when by a vote of 18 to 9 with 3 abstentions it formed out of Region 2. Its first President was John Ross and its President now is Larry Sheppard. There are at present 110 members and it draws its members from within the following Police Services; Haldimand-Norfolk Regional, Halton Regional, Hamilton, Niagara Regional, O.P.P., R.C.M.P., and Canada Customs.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Region 10 was able to secure a "Nevada Break Open Ticket" licence. We have named this account "The Richard R. Griffith Youth Donation Fund". It is named after the funds founder and Past President of Region 10, Richard R. Griffith. As you can see from the title, we make donations to youth oriented charitable organizations.
The fund was started in January of 1997. We have donated over $39,700 to organizations such as summer camps for terminally ill children, summer camps for under privileged children, Boy Scouts,Girl Guides, Sea Cadets, and Air Cadets.
Because of Richard's insight, many young people have benefited and the I.P.A. have been recognized as a caring organization. Most importantly it feels real good to be able to help the youth of today and tomorrow.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Our Annual Region 10 Christmas Party has been set. Mark your calendar for Sunday Dec. 5 from 2 pm on. It will be once again held at the Beacon Harbourside Restaurant at Jordan Harbour of Exit 55 of the Q.E.W. Cost is $32/person. It is still a long way off but mark your calender. (Last years party was great!)
