Region Five has always been a region of leadership, having at least one national executive officer in the region for many years. Currently, the IPA Canada national president is a member of this region. Many of the regional executive are members of the Edmonton Police Service, and are an important link between the IPA and the largest police service within the region.

Region Five maintains open communication with its members through the provision of a newsletter four times a year. This newsletter is coupled with the IPA Canada National Newsletter four times per year. Dinner meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month, March, April, May, September, October and November. They commence at 6:30 pm at varying locations in Edmonton.

Region Five has been proud to host such social activities as Fun Casinos, Police Insignia Swap Meets, a Bicycle Rodeo and BBQ's. Monthly dinner meetings are known to have the odd bake sale with our famous "Gerry the Auctioneer" to entertain.

Our members pride themselves with maintaining worldwide IPA contacts. We have hosted police officers from around the world, and had similar hospitality extended to our own members when they traveled abroad.

Region Five is always willing to welcome qualified new members.
