The International Police Association is dedicated to social and cultural interchange between its members and to this end member countries and regions organize various events throughout the year.

Friendship Weeks are usually organized around a special occasion. e.g. after the World Congress or on the anniversary of the founding of an section or region. These events are wonderfull opportunties for members to have short vacations at a reasonable cost (all arrangements are made by volunteers) and to participate in celebrations that would not normally be open to the regular traveller.
